Burg Schoenfels in Lichtentanne

Well worth a visit for decades. Small castle, well preserved and well restored. A fantastic place to get married.

The layout is a nice little castle. Inside, however, there is clearly a lot of need for restoration, but work is underway - it is clear that something like this cannot be completed overnight. Unfortunately, in the chargeable area, the castle is sparsely stocked in terms of information and exhibits, especially at the beginning you come across empty showcases as a visitor. Here and there the exhibits that are available could also be illuminated a little better. From the keep you have a nice view - but this also requires restoration. The walls and the railing are scrawled - sometimes with beautiful, sometimes with unsightly messages from students. Overall, a visit to the castle is worthwhile if you are in the vicinity, but I would not accept another journey in the current state - with a guide it may look different again. I gave myself a lot of time for the tour, looked at everything and it took me about an hour in total. There are enough parking spaces nearby, both paid and free.

The tour through the castle was entertaining for all students and contained exactly the information that was necessary. As a highlight, the students were also allowed to go up to the keep. From there everyone had a great view. The castle is recommended for a day of hiking or a short excursion.

The tour does not take very long, but it is extremely worth seeing and those who want can climb the tower and then have a very nice view.

It's just great and rich. I ate piglet, it was just perfect, compliments to the cook, the service was also very friendly!

Small but fine museum about the history of the castle, medieval life in it, the owners and the hunt. Currently only 2 instead of 3 euros entry, as the tower cannot be entered.

A real insider tip, a small knight's castle that is being restored step by step. Great and a lot of recognition for the renovators. Small restaurant with excellent food. Parking spaces are available below the castle.

Very nice, well restored romantic little castle. No multimedia or other frills, you can go back in time well here. Staff very friendly and a restaurant is also available. Large parking lot nearby. Entry price € 2 per adult, what more could you want! € 5 would also be appropriate. It’s really nice here.

A beautiful castle just as you imagine it to be. Since construction work is still being carried out in the castle, the admission price is currently halved. But it's still worth a visit.
